The Ultimate Battle Royale on the Pitch: Blue Lock

After a devastating defeat at the 2018 World Cup, Japan's national soccer association realizes their traditional team-first philosophy is holding them back from international glory. To construct the ultimate striker who can carry the country to victory, they initiate a radical, high-stakes training program called the Blue Lock project. Overseen by the eccentric coach Jinpachi Ego, three hundred of the nation's most talented youth players are locked away in a high-tech facility, forced to compete in a brutal survival game where only the most selfish, goal-hungry egoist will claim the title of Japan's legendary ace striker.

The story follows Yoichi Isagi, a frustrated high school forward who wonders if his selfless pass in a crucial match cost his team their shot at nationals. Seizing his invitation to join the facility, Isagi decides to abandon his conventional views on teamwork and embrace a dark, competitive drive to survive. Each stage of the training ruthlessly weeds out players, ending their dreams of ever representing Japan again. To climb to the top, Isagi must constantly evolve, outsmarting genius rivals and unlocking a terrifying personal ego that threatens to dominate the field.
