At the age of eight, I-Jin Yu survived a devastating plane crash only to find himself stranded in a ruthless foreign land. Ten years later, he finally returns home to Korea, reuniting with his loving family where food, shelter, and safety are abundant. With only one year of high school left, I-Jin quickly discovers that the schoolyard is its own battlefield filled with bullies, social hierarchies, and complex teenage dynamics.
